In January 2017, partners Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte, and Melia Marden of New York City's popular The Smile and Smile To Go brought their stylish, community-driven approach to Los Angeles with the opening of their first West Coast restaurant, di Alba. Helmed by chef/partner Nina Clemente, most recently at The Standard in LA, the casual counter and takeaway spot will offer focaccia with seasonal accompaniments inspired by those Nina grew up eating during her childhood visits to Italy.
Located in the epicenter of Downtown LA's Arts District in the same space as Shinola and NYC inker Scott Campbell's Saved Tattoo, di Alba's comfortable, streamlined setting is designed to be a mainstay for locals. Guests can expect a focused focaccia menu accompanied by market-driven salads and vibrant fare fit for breakfast and lunch everyday.
